Cassie and I did an overnight bike tour from Vernonia, OR to Fort Stevens in Astoria, OR. The weather was fine, the ride was lovely, and nothing catastrophic happened.

Notes

Swapping out the WTB Riddler 37c tires for Bontrager AW2 28c tires saved ~154g per wheel on Cassie's bike.

Final weigh ins without food or water:

Cassie's Bike: 23.4 lbs unloaded, 9.8 lbs of gear, 32.8 lbs total

David's Bike: 24.7 lbs unloaded, 10.8 lbs of gear, 35.5 lbs total

Since this was an overnight journey and the weather was fair, we brought a minimal amount of gear. I didn't bring any clothes except my lightweight REI shell. The only gear I brought was basic essentials, bike tools, sleeping bag, pad, and tent.

The difference in ride quality using bikepacking bags is very noticable and it's my goal to continue to use these moving forward. While obviously bringing minimal gear dropped our weights significantly, the aerodynamic advantage is really noticable.
